JHR has reported the death of detainee ‘Omar Adel Abul-Fottouh’, 25 years old, in Tora (investigation prison), as he died in the Chamber of Discipline due to a sudden interruption of the heart muscle, according to the prison administration, although he was not suffering from any diseases when he was arrested in February 2014, and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for a military case.
JHR condemns the deliberate murder by medical negligence, affirms that the Prison Administration and Prison Service are fully responsible for this crime, and also calls for an urgent investigation to this incident and ensuring accountability for those responsible for it.
