A distress message from the family of “Abdel Basset Ammar” for medical negligence practiced against him in the Aqrab prison

Justice for Human Rights foundation- JHR has received a distress message from the family of ‘Abdel Basset Shukri Abdel Wahab Ammar’, who is being held at Al-Aqrab (Scorpion) prison, as the prison administration refuses to allow him the medical care although his arm has been broken more than a year ago as a result of torture. The family expressed their concern of complications and amputation of his arm, and the detainee had declared that he had entered a full hunger strike for 10 days as a result of the violations to which he was subjected.
The Egyptian authorities have arrested him on 29th April 2018, and he was forcibly disappeared for 120 days and was charged for the case no.341- Military Felonies.
JHR condemns the violations against the detainee, calls for providing him with his lawful rights of medical care, and also affirms that the Egyptian authorities and prison administration are fully responsible for his safety.
