‘Mohamed ElAssar’ passed away in Burj Al-Arab prison due to medical negligence

On Saturday 25th May 2019, Justice for Human Rights foundation-JHR has reported the death of Mr. Mohamed Abd Al-Wahab ElAssar, 75 years old, the engineer and member of Muslim Brotherhood leadership, due to medical negligence and poor health care in Burj Al-Arab prison.

It’s worth mentioning that he is sentenced to seven years in prison and is accused in case No. 233 of military crimes known as “Burning the Building of Beheira Province’
JHR condemns the murder by medical negligence and calls on the Public Prosecutor to investigate the incident and ensure the accountability of those responsible for the incident. The Egyptian authorities also bear full responsibility for the increasing number of deaths by medical negligence in prisons and inhuman detention places.
