Number of Extrajudicil killings increased to 24 citizens in 4 days, Sinai

Justice for Human Rights foundation-JHR has reported that the Egyptian authorities have killed 26 citizens the past few days after the attack on a security checkpoint in North Sinai. The Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday (6th June ) the killing of 14 citizens in a house in Al-Masa’id district of Al-Arish. On Friday (7th June ), the Ministry of Interior announced the killing of 8 citizens in a farm in El-Zaheer El- Sahrawy of Al-Obour district in southern Arish. Moreover, the ministry announced 4 other citizens killed by its forces on Saturday 8th June. The ministry claimed that the killed citizens had participated in the attack on the security checkpoint, which led to the death of 14 security personnel.

JHR condemns the expansion of the Egyptian authorities in the illegal killings of the citizens and the disappeared forcibly, and also calls on the Public Prosecutor to investigate these circumstances to reveal the truth and to hold those responsible accountability.
