Court of Cassation supports the execution of a citizen and 15 years imprisonment for 12 others in the case of the “Ousim cell”

On 8th June, 2019, Justice for Human Rights foundation-JHR has monitored that the Court of Cassation supported the death sentence against Bakr Abu Ghabl, and 15 years of imprisonment against 12 others in the case known as the “Ousim cell.” The court also commuted the death sentence against another citizen to 15 years imprisonment.

JHR condemns the sentences against the detainees, calls for a moratorium on the death penalty in Egypt, and also calls for the retrial of the citizens and providing them with the standers and guarantees of fair trials.
