On 19th May, 2019, Cairo Felony Court renewed the detention of Dr. Abdel Moneim Aboul Fattouh, head of ‘Misr El-Qaweya’ party, for 45 days, in case No. 440/2018, under the pretext of publishing and broadcasting false news. This comes amid serious deterioration in his health as a result of his imprisonment in a solitary confinement and poor medical care after suffering from several diseases and the prison administration refused to provide him with the treatment.
JHR condemns the violations against Dr. Dr. Abdel Moneim Aboul Fattouh and also calls for quickly stopping these violations and providing him with the adequate medical care for his deteriorated health condition.
