Distress call from family of Dr. ‘Mostafa El-Ghoneimy’, detainee in ‘Aqrab’ prison

Justice for Human Rights foundation-JHR received a distress call from the family of Dr. ‘Mostafa Taher El-Ghoneimy’, 65 years old, saying that he has been placed in an inhumane disciplinary cell inside Aqrab prison after an argument between him and the state security officer ‘Marawan Hammad’. The prison directorate ignored the medical reports that asserts that his health has deteriorated during the last four years. He suffers from a weak heart and he had suffered from several severe heart attacks, according to the family. The family also called for a cataracts surgery in both eyes. He also He has been infected with C virus for three months and the prison administration has refused to provide him with treatment.

JHR condemns the violations against Dr. ‘Mostafa El-Ghoneimy’, calls on stopping the medical negligence against him, affirms that the Egyptian authorities are fully responsible for his safety, and also calls for providing him with the adequate medical care for his critical condition.
