International Families Day — Families Behind Bars

On the occasion of the International Day of Families, the anguish endured by families whose loved ones have been imprisoned due to political persecution cannot be ignored. The cases include:

Hassan Khairat Al-Shater – Son of Eng. Khairat Al-Shater, apprehended on February 16, 2017, and remains in custody.

Saad Khairat Al-Shater – Son of Eng. Khairat Al-Shater, detained on August 28, 2013, and held until May 19, 2017.

Aisha Khairat Al-Shater – Daughter of Eng. Khairat Al-Shater, arrested on November 1, 2018, and still incarcerated.

Ahmed Darwish – Son-in-law of Eng. Khairat Al-Shater, detained on February 16, 2017.

Ahmed Tharwat – Son-in-law of Eng. Khairat Al-Shater, apprehended on December 6, 2014, at Cairo Airport following his return from Qatar.

Khaled Abu Shadi – Son-in-law of Eng. Khairat Al-Shater, arrested on June 12, 2019.
