There’s a serious medical negligence practiced against Dr. Mohamed Badie in the Molhak Mazraet Tora prison , whose health has deteriorated as a result of abuses. All his personal belongings have been confiscated and he has been prevented from the visit for more than three years. They refused to give him any food from his family, and just feed him with only non-human prison food. He was also prevented from receiving the medicine and they refused to provide him with any medical care despite the drastic deterioration in his health condition and that he’s suffering from corrosion in cartilage and breaking in the spine, and was prevented from exercising or being seen by the prison’s doctor, which caused him to be exposed to fainting.
Article 10 of the International Covenant on Civil and political Rights stipulates that “all persons deprived of their liberty shall be treated humanely, with respect for the inherent dignity of the human person”, as well as this gross medical negligence is also incompatible with the rights of prisoners set in the Standard minimum Rules for the Treatment of prisoners adopted by the United Nations Economic and Social Council and ratified by the Arab Republic of Egypt.
