Death of detainee “Abdel Rahman Sa’id” in Wadi Al-Natroun prison

Justice for Human Rights foundation-JHR has documented the death of ‘Abdel Rahman Sa’id’, 23 years old, in Wadi Al-Natroun prison due to medical negligence. He was mentally ill as a result of torture, ill-treatment, being transferred from Burj El Arab prison to Wadi Al-Natroon, and refusing to allow him with the adequate treatment.

JHR condemns the murder by
medical negligence of the detainee and affirms that the Egyptian authorities and the prison administration bear full responsibility for his death. The foundation also calls on the Egyptian Public Prosecutor to open an investigation into the incident and ensure the accountability of those responsible.
