On 12th May, 2019, the State Security Criminal Court (emergency) sentenced two of the defendants to death in the well-known case of the “Marmina Church”. The court also sentenced two others to life imprisonment, four others to 10 years imprisonment, two others to 3 years imprisonment and acquitted one defendant. The court accused them of killing 9 citizens and a police officer in December 2017.
Justice for Human Rights foundation-JHR condemns the politicized judgements issued by exceptional and illegal courts against the citizens, and also calls for a retrial of the defendants before a natural court and providing them with the standards and guarantees of fair trials.
