The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights holds its 64th Ordinary Session in Egypt – Sharm el-Sheikh

The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights holds its 64th Ordinary Session in Egypt – Sharm el-Sheikh.This regional human rights event takes place in a country that does not respect the constitution or the law and is criticized by all organizations concerned with the protection of human rights. Whether civil or political rights or economic and social rights, all are denied rights in Egypt. Moreover, the event is to be held in Egypt despite the issuance of more than 30 recommendations by the African Commission against Egypt to stop the implementation of the provisions, despite the rejection of requests for visits by finding truth commissions to monitor the deteriorating human rights conditions, especially in detention places and prisons, despite the issuance of hundreds of recommendations to stop human rights flagrant violations, and despite the failure of the Egyptian government to implement or respect those recommendations!!!

Furthermore, it’s held there despite that the Egyptian authorities have already executed 52 citizens in political cases and unfair trials and despite all the human rights reports describing Egypt’s human rights situation as the worst. The meetings of the largest regional human rights commission will be hold in the country that violates all human rights.
Justice for Human Rights foundation-JHR denounces that the African Commission is going to hold this ordinary session in Egypt. JHR calls on taking major effective procedures against the Egyptian government to stop the systemic and ongoing human rights violations and to release all political detainees in Egypt. Also JHR calls on the African Commission to issue a resolution compelling the Egyptian authorities to stop the death sentences that are already issued.
